A One-Day Aid Management Workshop Gets Underway

The workshop will be held under the theme, “A move towards Effective Aid Management and Transparency in Post HIPC-Liberia”.
A statement from the Media Services Unit at the Finance Ministry said the workshop is a joint effort of the Finance Ministry and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs. During the workshop there will be interactions between government ministries and development partners including NGOs, CSOs, Foundations and the Private Sector.
The objectives of the one day aid management gathering are to Review current effective aid management interventions through knowledge sharing and will provide participants the unique opportunity to acquaint themselves with the techniques, mechanisms and modalities towards effective aid management.
Another objective is to enhance effective aid management and transparency in compliance with the Public Financial Management Law, Paris Declaration and the Accra Agenda for Action (AAA).
Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan is expected to address the opening section of the one day event with remarks from Planning and Economic Affairs Minister Amara Konneh and UNDP Resident Representative Moustapha Soumare.
Topics expected to be discussed during the workshop are Aid Management Cycle, Aid Effectiveness and Transparency, Aid Data Collection & Analysis to Enhance Reporting and Enhancing Government-Development Partners coordination.
The Director of the Aid Management Unit at the Finance Ministry Mr. William Towah will be among those that will deliver papers during the one day aid management workshop.
Funding for the workshop is coming from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)
